Press & forging shop

The shop was established in 1969 and is one of the biggest in Europe among similar profile shops. The shop comprises an open forging division and a thermal treatment division located in separate buildings. The equipment and process capabilities of the shop provides the manufacture of abroad nomenclature of forgings including the following:

• smooth shafts, round and square blanks, shafts step-shaped shafts, cylinders with a hole, stamped cubes, rings and other blanks with the weight up to 6 tons, being manufactured by open forging on hammers and presses;
• products being obtained by hot volume stamping on die-forging manners, crank-operated hot die-forging
  presses, horizontal forging machines. The weight of forgings is from 0.05 kg to 200 kg.

All blanks are subjected to thermal treatment with the assurance of specified physical and mechanical properties and to testing with the issue of a corresponding test certificate. The grade composition of steels is as follows:

• structural carbon and alloyed steels;
• tool carbon and alloyed steels;
• high-alloyed and corrosion-resistant steels

The main types of thermal treatment include

• normalization, annealing;
• volume hardening in oil, water, polymer media;
• tempering.

The shop has a great experience in the manufacture of blanks for tractors, special machinery products, turbo-geared sets for marine vessels and Navy ships, pumps for NPPs, motor and locomotive axles for all modifications of railway rolling stock.
